New Larry Correia? Yes, please! This is a side series to his main Monster Hunter series. Not sure about Cordova, but if Larry trusts him, so do I. I’ll have to check out some of his solo stuff soon.

So, I’ve been reading a lot of urban fantasy lately since discovering it was actually a genre, and it seems that’s what a hell of a lot of my stuff falls into. This is the fifth book in Kevin Hearne’s Iron Druid series, and I am thoroughly enjoying it. The series is worth reading for the talking dog parts alone. Great comedic breaks that keep it fun.

This one is strange with a capitol S and I like that a lot. So much of the urban fantasy stuff tends to read very similar… not this one. check it out!

After starting Something From the Nightside, I wanted to try something else form Green and landed on this. I’m doing the audio book of this one and was a bit surprised to find out the dude is English. Sounds a bit strange to my ear, but fun none the less.

My smoking and BBQ game is as good as anyone’s, but it’s always smart to learn from the masters. Re-reading some of the Mixon books to see if I can get any new ideas or techniques.

Not only is Travis S Taylor a genuine genius with a very open mind, but he writes pretty good fiction as well. He’s written solo and co-authored with the likes of John Ringo and others. Worth a read.

A lot of the old tropes in urban fantasy are regurgitated here, but for the life of me, I can’t put the damn thing down. I have to know how it ends and I’m trying to figure out why that is. I’ll let you know as soon as I do.
